A trade show floor is loud. Everything on it is asking for a minute of someone's time. The activations that work make it easy to say yes. Walk up, look good, grab something to share, and get back to the show.
That was the plan when G2E, the Global Gaming Expo, brought URBNevents to The Venetian Expo in Las Vegas. We ran our Video Tower Booth, the Video Tower configuration of our ring light booth, for the whole event. It had a branded screen, a custom start screen, and an 8ft lighted backdrop. Guests walked up for stills and GIFs.
The Setting: G2E at The Venetian Expo
G2E describes itself as the premier event for the global legal, regulated gaming industry. It brings casino, sportsbook and online gaming operators together with suppliers, vendors and game developers. The show has an expo hall and an education program, and it covers everything from slot machines and table games to payments, hospitality and security tech.
For us, it's a hometown show. We're based in Las Vegas.
On a floor like this, a photo activation has to hold its own next to game demos and big exhibits. It also can't slow anyone down, because people are there to take meetings and see a lot in a short time. So the goal was simple: something that looks sharp, runs smoothly, and gives people a reason to stop for a minute.
The Setup: Video Tower, Branded Screen, Lighted Backdrop
We kept the setup simple on purpose:
- The Video Tower Booth. Its screen faces out to the floor, so people can see what's happening and what they'll get before they walk up. That's what pulls them in.
- A branded screen and a custom start screen. The tower carried G2E's branding, and the first thing guests saw was a start screen made for the show. That was all the branding it needed.
- An 8ft lighted backdrop. It gives every photo a clean, bright background and makes the whole setup easy to spot from across the hall.
- Open-air, no enclosure. People passing by can see others using it, and that gets them to wander over.
The ring light does a lot of the work. It gives soft, even light, cuts down on harsh shadows, and adds that round catchlight in the eyes. Under convention hall lighting, that's the difference between a quick snapshot and a photo people actually want to keep.
The Experience: Walk Up, Pose, Back to the Show
The flow was quick, and that's the point. Nobody at G2E has time for a long line or a long explanation.
- Guests walk up to the tower and the custom start screen.
- The booth captures a still or a GIF under the ring light.
- They're done and back on the floor.
We'll let the highlight video do the talking.
Why Stills and GIFs Work at Trade Shows
A still is the photo people keep. A GIF is the one that has some movement and personality to it. Offering both means one short session covers both, and guests get to pick what fits them.
At a show like G2E, people are there to work. They have meetings, demos and a lot of ground to cover. A booth that takes a minute fits into that day. A booth that needs a long wait doesn't, no matter how good it looks.
Why a Video Tower Booth Works for Las Vegas Trade Shows
We run a lot of regular events like this one. The Video Tower Booth is one of our go-to trade show activations, and here's why we keep recommending it:
- It's simple to set up. Less time on install means more time for everything else on your list.
- It's reliable. Our team has run this setup at a lot of events, so we know it well.
- It draws people in. The outward-facing screen shows what's on offer before anyone walks up.
- It flatters everyone. Ring light is soft and even, for solo shots and groups alike.
- It carries your brand. A branded screen and a custom start screen keep your name front and center.
- It stays open to the room. With no enclosure, the booth does some of its own marketing.
If you're planning an event at The Venetian Expo or anywhere else in town, this is the trade show photo booth in Las Vegas we'd point you to first.
